OUR CLUB

Blackburn North Cricket Club Inc. (BNCC) was established in 1948 and is affiliated within the Box Hill Reporter District Cricket Association (BHRDCA) and Veterans Cricket Victoria (VCV). The Club is well established with a long and proud history and celebrated its 75th Jubilee Year in 2023. The Club has two grounds located at Koonung Reserve, Heppner St, Blackburn North, including the “Len Toogood Oval” and the West Oval.


For the upcoming 2025-26 Season, the Club is very excited and proud to be entering its inaugural Senior Women's Team in the Eastern Girls & Women's Competition (EGWC) playing fortnightly on Sunday's in an entry level grade. It's a short 20 over format with softer balls, and would suit all females looking to learn and take up the great game of Cricket. We are busy recruiting and welcoming all new female players! Come and be part of Club history!. Further, BNCC fully embraces diversity and inclusion and believes in the spirit of good sportsmanship and behaviour and holds gold accreditation within the Good Sports Program.


The Club’s 1st XI Men's Team play in the Howard Wilson Shield Grade after winning the Premiership in Dorothy McIntosh Shield last season being the Club's 9th 1st XI Premiership. The Club fields an additional 3 senior men’s teams along with an over 50’s VETS team that play fortnightly on Sunday’s. All teams play on synthetic wickets. The Club welcomes all new players across all grades.


The 4 senior men’s teams are registered in the following grades for the 2025-26 Season. All grades play on Saturday afternoons and include 64, 70 and 80 over formats across 2-day and 1-day games. 

 

  • 1st X1 Howard Wilson Shield - 80 over 2-day / 40 over 1-day games.

  • 2nd XI B Grade - 80 over 2-day / 40 over 1-day games.

  • 3rd XI D Grade - 70 over 2-day / 35 over 1-day games.

  • 4th XI J Grade - 64 over 2-day games (split innings) / 1-day games.

  • VETS D Grade - 36 over one-day games (fortnightly on Sundays 12.30pm)
